BracketBolt
Terms of Service
Last updated: November 3, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and BracketBolt (bracketbolt.app). By creating an account, creating a bracket, voting, or otherwise using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use BracketBolt.
1. The service
BracketBolt lets you build single-elimination voting brackets, share them, collect votes live (including from Twitch or YouTube chat when you connect your own channel) and crown a champion. Some features require a paid BracketBolt Pro subscription. We may change, add or remove features at any time. You must be at least 13 years old (16 where local law requires) to use BracketBolt, and old enough to form a binding contract to buy a subscription.
2. Your account
You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your password secure, and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been compromised.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use BracketBolt to create, post or share content that:
- is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, or promotes violence or discrimination;
- is sexually explicit, exploits or endangers minors, or contains graphic violence;
- infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- is deceptive, fraudulent, spam, or contains malware or phishing links;
- names or targets private individuals in a way that harasses or exposes them.
You also agree not to attack, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, bypass access or plan limits, or interfere with other users. We may remove content or limit access that we believe violates these terms.
To report content that you believe is unlawful or infringes your rights, email support.bracketbolt@gmail.com with the bracket link and an explanation. We will review it and may remove the content or restrict the account responsible.
4. Your content and license to us
You own the content you create (brackets, entrant names and images, descriptions, logos). You are responsible for it and promise you have the rights to post it. If you upload an image, you confirm you have the right to store and share it through BracketBolt, and that it does not violate these terms or the law. By posting content you grant BracketBolt a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display and distribute it as needed to operate, secure and promote the service (for example showing your bracket to anyone with its link, displaying it in previews, and showing ads next to it on the free plan if we run ads). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for backups and copies already shared by others.
5. Voting integrity
Votes should reflect real opinions. Do not manipulate results: no bots, scripts, VPN or proxy rotation to cast repeat votes, vote-buying schemes that circumvent the one-vote-per-match limit, or other attempts to game a bracket. We limit browser votes per person using a hashed IP address and a voter cookie, and chat votes using a hashed Twitch or YouTube user id (one chat vote per person per open match). We may discard votes, close or remove brackets, or suspend accounts if we detect manipulation. Bracket results are for entertainment and are not scientific polls or official rankings. If you connect Twitch or YouTube, you must have the right to that channel, and you are responsible for telling your chat that messages starting with !1 / !2 will be counted as votes.
If you are a creator who collects voter emails, you must handle them lawfully, tell voters how you will use them, and not misuse them (for example, no spam). You are responsible for your own compliance with privacy and marketing laws.
6. BracketBolt Pro subscriptions
- Plans and price. Pro is $4.99 per month or $39.99 per year. Prices are shown in the purchase flow before you pay and may change for future billing periods, with notice. Taxes may apply.
- Billing. Subscriptions are processed by RevenueCat and Stripe. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel.
- Cancel anytime. You can cancel at any time using the manage-subscription link in your purchase email from our billing provider, or by emailing support.bracketbolt@gmail.com and we will cancel it for you. Deleting your account also cancels it. After you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for, and it will not renew.
- Refunds. Payments are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we decide otherwise at our discretion, for example for accidental duplicate charges. Contact support.bracketbolt@gmail.com within 14 days of a charge and we will review your request. If a refund is granted, Pro access may end immediately.
- Downgrades. If Pro ends, your account returns to the free plan: brackets stay, but Pro-only features (such as 64+ entrants, OBS overlay, custom branding, email capture and password protection) may be disabled and ads may appear on your brackets.
7. Advertising on free brackets
BracketBolt is free to use. Brackets created on the free plan may display advertisements from us or third-party ad networks, and those networks may use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy. You can change your advertising choice at any time with “Cookie & ad preferences” in the footer. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the sites they link to. Pro creators' brackets are shown without ads.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using BracketBolt and delete your account at any time from your account page (or email support.bracketbolt@gmail.com if you need help). Deleting your account permanently deletes your brackets and other content, as described in our Privacy Policy, and cancels any BracketBolt Pro subscription so it will not renew; it does not entitle you to a refund of fees you already paid, except as stated in section 6 or required by law. We may suspend or terminate your access, or remove content, if you break these terms, abuse the service, or if required by law, with or without notice where reasonable. Cancelling a subscription alone does not delete your account. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as content licenses, disclaimers and liability limits) will survive.
9. Our intellectual property
The BracketBolt name, logo, design and software are ours or our licensors'. These terms do not give you rights to them, other than the limited right to use the service as intended.
10. Disclaimers
BracketBolt is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that votes will be accurate, or that content created by users is accurate or appropriate. Some places do not allow certain disclaimers, so some of this may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, BracketBolt and its owners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Governing law and venue
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the service, are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
If you have a problem, please email support.bracketbolt@gmail.com first so we can try to sort it out informally. Any dispute that is not resolved informally must be brought exclusively in the state courts located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, or in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and you and BracketBolt each consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new “Last updated” date. If you keep using BracketBolt after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
14. General
These terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and BracketBolt about the service. If a part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a part of these terms, that does not waive it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our consent; we may transfer ours as part of a merger, sale or reorganization of the business.
